ITALIAN RENAISSANCE AND BAROQUE INSPIRED METAL DOOR AND SCREENS

A Monument of Architectural Metal Art

Completed in 2007, the MUSA project is a landmark in our portfolio, blending late 16th-century Italian Renaissance and Baroque influences with architectural metalwork of exceptional beauty. Designed with Musa Investments and Herscoe Hajjar Architects, the villa features hand-forged, cast, and repoussé pieces that balance elegance, complexity, and permanence.

Under the artistic direction of Maestro Louis Beltran, every element was crafted to reflect historical authenticity, structural integrity, and seamless integration within the exuberant Italian revival architecture.

From Drawing to the Atelier

The development of MUSA was, above all, an exercise in visual research. Our team immersed itself in historical references, studying Renaissance patterns, Florentine grilles, palatial balustrades, and ornamental motifs from Italian architecture. From these studies, we crafted a unique visual language: a system of curves and proportions that could be forged. Every piece began as a drawing, technical yet expressive, where rhythm, density, and scale were orchestrated with harmony. From these lines, we developed hundreds of shop drawings that translated artistic vision into metal art. In this project, design was not a preliminary step. It was the soul of the process.

A Luxury Development Defined by Metal

Few projects require the level of breadth and depth that MUSA demanded. Throughout the residence, we designed, manufactured, and installed four monumental stair railings: the main stair, library stair, wine room stair, and auxiliary stair, as well as handcrafted windows and doors, sculptural metal screens, forged balconies, fences, and entry gates, and dozens of custom light fixtures and chandeliers.

In the atelier, metal came alive. Curved iron ribbons were hand-forged and hammered. Chandeliers and sconces were cast in custom molds, then finished with hand-applied specialty finishes.

Architectural Metal Masterpieces

MUSA is the result of a shared vision where architecture and metal exist in perfect balance. Each piece, from the flowing stair railings to the sculptural light fixtures, was conceived as an extension of the home’s architectural language. Metal here is not an ornament. It is an expressive structure that amplifies the original design intent, creating a visual and tactile coherence that only emerges when art and engineering are aligned from the start.
