Sculptural Stair in the New York Skyline

In the heart of Brooklyn, overlooking the dynamic cityscape, a sculptural staircase rises; more than a means of circulation, it becomes a work of architectural art. In collaboration with Shenton Architects and Kathryn Eisberg of KE Design, this piece was imagined as the visual and spatial anchor of a modern penthouse.

The project was honored with the Architizer A+Product Award in the Best Residential Design category, a recognition that reflects the staircase’s unique fusion of craftsmanship, design, and sculptural presence.

The process was as intricate as the result is seamless.

Over 20 master artisans in our atelier were involved in its making. The staircase was engineered, hand-assembled, and then disassembled into over 300 unique components. Each part was coded and shipped to New York, where it was reassembled on site with surgical precision.

From the initial sketch to the final weld, this staircase tells a story of discipline, vision, and craft. It stands today not only as a functional element but as a sculptural presence, transforming the home into a space of quiet drama and timeless modernity. It is proof of how architectural metalwork, when masterfully executed, becomes the soul of a space.
